How Are Scented Shower Steamers Made?

Getting our scented shower steamers right took more trial and error than we expected.

We tested different ingredient ratios, adjusted the amount of essential oils, and experimented with how tightly each steamer needed to be pressed. Some dissolved too quickly, while others did not release enough scent once the shower started steaming.

Over time, we found the balance we were looking for.

Each steamer begins with a blend of baking soda and citric acid, which creates the gentle fizz when it comes into contact with water. We then add carefully selected essential oils to create each scent profile before pressing the mixture into individual moulds.

The steamers are left to dry and harden, then checked to make sure they hold their shape and release their scent gradually in the shower.

It may look like a simple little disc, but a lot of testing goes into creating one that feels easy to use, smells beautiful, and lasts long enough for you to enjoy the moment.
